Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, is a name you can’t miss on the list of DJs in Nigeria, Football Twitter, and even Nigerian recording artistes list as she considers herself the “Princess of Afrobeats”. Cuppy gets her stage name from her love for Cup cakes, especially Red velvet, little wonder she named her Music Group Red Velvet Music Group. Born in 1992, Cuppy had her childhood in Nigeria before moving to London at age 13. A gift given to her by her parents was an iPod she filled with Nigerian Music to remain close to her roots, which she tapped inspiration to be a musician from. She graduated from King’s College London with a degree in Business and Economics in 2014, in the same year she got to DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards. In the same year she released her first mix House of Cuppy. She launched Red Velvet Music management groups that year too. By 2015, she dropped the second mix House of Cuppy II which had more influences of Electronic Dance Music.

She started her DJ your in August 2015, tagged ‘Cuppy takes Africa’ visiting 8 cities in Africa. The Pink haired princess proceeded to have her Masters in Music Business at the New York City University while interning at Roc Nation also in 2015. Over the years, the host of Africa Now Radio on Apple Musichas released hit singles before the release of 12 tracks from her album. The are Greenlight ft. Tekno(2017), Vybe ft. Sarkodie(2018), Currency ft. LAX(2018), Werk ft. Skuki(2018), Abena ft. Kwesi Arthur, Shaydee, Ceeza Milli(2019) and Gelato ft. Zlatan Ibile(2019).

2018 Cuppy foundation was launched and up to 17 million dollars was raised for charity to support her Save the Children Initiative. Ifeoluwa aka Cuppy was announced as DJ ambassador for Pepsi and ambassador for Save the Children Initiative in UK both in 2018. In 2020, Cuppy was inducted into the Forbes Magazine’s 30 under 30 class. Cuppy also released her debut album Original Copy, a 12 tracks album with amazing features and incredibly fused genres of music, from Electronic Music to Afro Beats, Afro Fusion, Hip Hop etc. Cuppy also appeared in the Manchester United 3rd Jersey launch commercial with her song Original Copy playing in the background. Ifeoluwa Florence Otedola has been an epitome of excellence, the Recording artiste, DJ, Producer, and Entrepreneur has a lot to offer from the beautiful bank of artistry, that is why we celebrate her today as our Woman Crush.
