FIBAN set to honor Oloye Lekan Alabi on World Radio Day

Ibadan High Chief and Veteran Journalist, Oloye Lekan Alabi, the Maye Olubadan of Ibadan land has announced that he will be honored on this year’s World Radio Day celebration, organized by the Freeland and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN).

In a Broadcast message sent out by the High Chief who is also the Cultural Ambassador of the National Museum, Ile-Ife, and one of the patrons of FIBAN, he stated that FIBAN has decided to honour him in commemoration of his 50th year in the practice of journalism.

Below is the message of the Ibadan High Chief;

“HONOUR ON 2023 WORLD RADIO DAY
13th February is proclaimed by the UNESCO as WORLD RADIO DAY all over the world to, among others, celebrate radio broadcast and improve cooperation among international broadcasters.

“The Oyo State Chapter of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association(FIBAN) of which I am a patron and member, has decided to honour my 50th year of practice as a journalist, by dedicating this year’s celebration of the WORLD RADIO DAY to me vide a Lecture/Luncheon in Ibadan,Oyo State.

“Meanwhile, contacts are being made by FIBAN to engage the Nobel laureate, Professor ‘Wole Soyinka as the Guest Speaker, Kabiyesi Olubadan as the Royal host and Kabiyesi Ooni as the Royal Father at the ceremony.

“Currently, I am an analyst on SPACE 90.1FM, Agidigbo TV among others.
