Description of the Ibadan city radio waves in the last decade will not be complete without the mention of Tope Edwards. The city met him officially at Splash FM where he held it down on different shows, especially the lunch hour show alongside his radio buddy, Desmond G.
After a while he left Splash FM to pitch his tent with the then newly rejuvenated and rechristened Oluyole FM, still on the lunch hour show where he was famously referred to as Big T. His Lunch hour show was exceptionally successful with permanent sponsors like Fan milk among others.
At the inception of Fresh FM, Tope Edwards was among the talents poached by the station from Oluyole FM. Ever since then, he has grown to be a master of his craft and move from being a launch show host to a breakfast show host with his signature show being, Freshly pressed, the stations daily newspaper review show.
Unknown to many radio listeners, while Big T was serving them awesome content on radio, he was also pursuing a legal career, and he has been an active Legal practitioner in the last few years. It therefore came as a rude shock this morning the 14th day of August, when it was announced that the gentleman Barrister at Law and radio has graciously bowed out of radio.
Initially there were speculations that maybe all is not well at the music house, thanks to his friend and colleague, Kenny Ogunmiloro for setting the record straight via his Facebook post, where he revealed that Tope Edward is bowing out to embrace full time Legal Practice. Most definitely he will be missed greatly, but we can only wish him more victories as he takes on a relatively new challenge in Legal practice. .
