Faysol Oluwakemi, a well-known indigenous health content creator and Fresh FM On-air personality, hosted the eighth edition of his annual health lecture on Monday, October 2, 2023. The event, held at David Ajiboye Hall, Yinka Ayefele Music House, located in Challenge, Ibadan, was themed “Cancer: Kill It Before It Kills You.”
The 8th Faysol Oluwakemi Annual Health Lecture, fondly referred to as #FOHCAF8.0, marked another milestone in the quest for Healthy living. The event was a resounding success, achieving its goal of spreading crucial information about cancer prevention and early detection.
In a heartfelt message, Faysol Oluwakemi expressed gratitude to all those who supported the event in various ways, saying, “We were able to achieve the 8th Faysol Oluwakemi Annual Health Lecture with your support in one way or another. We say thank you! It served its purpose, and I feel fulfilled. Health Reportage was officially unveiled, and I feel honored. To God alone be the glory.”
Among the dignitaries in attendance were Dr. Olayinka Joel Ayefele MON, Chairman, and CEO of Fresh FM, Nigeria, and Alhaji Abolade Salami, Group General Manager of Fresh FM, Nigeria. Also present was Hon. Waheed Akintayo Ilumoka, who represents Oluyole State constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly and serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs.
Other notable figures included Mr. Daniel Bakare, Mr. Samson Akindele, General Manager of Fresh FM, Abeokuta, Mrs. Hajara Jimoh, HR at Fresh FM, Nigeria, Alhaji Adesoji Baderin, Protocol Officer at INEC, Oyo State, Alhaja Saudat Adebimpe Adedoyin, Founder of the YUSRRA charitable foundation, Alhaji and Alhaja Dawud Oluwakemi (parents of Faysol Oluwakemi), Alhaja Latifat Busari Ajisafe, and Mr. Kola Olomide, President of Ibadan Mega Voice, as well as representatives from the South West Professional Broadcasters.
The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Mutiu Alani Jimoh, a Consultant Radiation/Clinical Oncologist from the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan. The panelists included Dr. Foluke Sarimiye, Executive Director of the PATELA CARE Foundation and Consultant in Radiation and Clinical Oncology/Psycho-Oncology at the University of Ibadan/UCH, Dr. Oladeji Afolabi Adebayo, Consultant Radiation & Clinical Oncologist, and Director of Alpha Specialist Hospital, and Dr. Bolaji Lateef Salako, a Consultant Radiation/Clinical Oncologist from the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The event provided a platform for experts to discuss critical issues related to cancer prevention and treatment, furthering the mission of raising awareness about this life-threatening disease. Faysol Oluwakemi’s dedication to improving health education in Nigeria continues to make a significant impact in the fight for healthy living in the society.
