Radio Presenter Israel Olajumoke Arrested by JFM Amidst Defamation Allegations

JFM Saki Journalist Detained Following Accusations from Own Media House

Israel Olajumoke, a rising radio presenter at JFM Saki, found himself in police custody this morning. According to his post published on his personal page, he believe the arrest is at the instance of his own media house JFM 95.5 Saki, Oyo state. In his words, the arrest stems from advice given by Olajumoke to aspiring On-Air Personalities (OAPs) which was perceived as damaging to the reputation of the radio station.

According to sources, the police arrived at Olajumoke’s residence this morning to execute the arrest, leaving the journalist in a state of distress. In a brief statement from Olajumoke, he expressed the difficulties he is currently facing, appealing to all media houses to rally behind him.

“I am in police custody and have been arrested. The media house I work with in Saki accused me of defaming our radio station with the advice I gave to upcoming OAPs. I’m going through a lot right now, and I urge all media houses to fight for me,” pleaded Israel Olajumoke.

The incident has sparked concern within the media community, raising questions about freedom of expression and the relationship between journalists and their employers.

Meanwhile, as of press time, attempts to contact the station’s management have proven unsuccessful. The situation is rapidly unfolding, and further updates on Israel Olajumoke’s arrest are expected to be reported as events progress.
