Oyo state added another Radio station after Mr. Olusegun Odebunmi, representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal constituency initiated and launched Ogo-Ilu 89.3 FM on Saturday, December 5, in Osogbo Road, Oko, Oyo State, Nigeria.
Ogo-Ilu FM has been described according to Minister for Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammed as the constituency project of Mr. Olusegun Odebunmi, therefore he applauded the laudable move to have initiated such in his constituency, making the Radio station first of its kind in Oyo state and Nigeria.
Lai Muhammed also seized the opportunity to implore the good people of Oko community to defend the Radio station as it is a means of bringing information closer to them without any stress.
Mr Olusegun Odebunmi, member representing Ogo-Oluwa-Ogo-Oluwa-surulere Federal Constituency, said he was motivated to make the radio station his constituency project to make his people have first hand information on policies and programs of government and nip the menace of fake news in the bud.
There were goodwill messages from traditional rulers such as Oranmiyan of Oko land, Oba Solomon Oyeyemi, Aresa of Iresa-Apa, Oba Moses Ajiboye, Olugbon of Orile-Igbon land, representatives of the Oyo state government and former Governor Adebayo Alao Akala, management team of FRCN including the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Harmony FM Idofian, Alhaji Abdulmualiy Olanrewaju Adegboyega who stood in for Zonal Director North Central Zone, Mallam Haruna Idris
