Nigerian Radio Awards Grant Two OAPs Land Prizes in Abuja

Two radio presenters, Aishatu Loko and Ras Rah, emerged as winners in the female and male categories of the Nigerian Radio Awards held recently in Abuja.

The organizers, led by Mr. Williams Achibong, expressed the award’s purpose to recognize the invaluable contributions of On-Air Personalities (OAPs) and encourage their continued efforts in addressing various issues through radio interventions.

The recipients, Aishatu Loko of Federal Polytechnic Campus 88.5fm Nasarawa State and Ras Rah of 90.9fm Lagos, were awarded plots of land worth N5 million each in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Mr. Achibong believes that such recognition will stimulate development, leading to improved remuneration and incentives for OAPs.

Expressing gratitude, Aishatu Loko shared her joy, describing the award and land prize as a dream come true, inspired by her father’s influence in broadcasting on NTA Jos. Other winners, including Mavis Nneoma Attitude and Otene Oche, noted the significance of their first awards, anticipating enhanced practice and strengthened connections with their audience.

They emphasized the importance of celebrating radio presenters and encouraged further investment in the industry by the government and stakeholders.
