Ilaji, Prince fm Radio, Wells Radio, IITA, others secure broadcasting license in Ibadan

In a statement released and signed by the Director-General, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Balarabe Ilelah, on Tuesday, 28 September, 2021, Ilaji, Prince fm Radio, Wells Radio, IITA, Pep Radio, others secured broadcasting license to operate as Radio/Television stations in Ibadan.

Primus Media City gathered that President Muhammadu Buhari approved the establishment of 159 new radio and television stations in Nigeria.

According to the statement, “Following the approval granted by the president, NBC has released the list of 159 licenses granted to companies, communities and institutions of higher learning.

“The commission was established by the NBC ACT, Cap. N11, Laws of the Federation 2004 with the mandate to regulate and control broadcasting in Nigeria.

“Today, there are a total of 625 functional broadcast stations in Nigeria,’’ Ilelah stated.

The newly-approved licenses in Ibadan, Oyo state are International Institute of Topical Agriculture Radio (IITA); Prince Media Network; Well’s Communication Service Limited; Ilaji Broadcasting Limited, Taip Communication Limited, among many others.
