To celebrate and reward the work being done across various social media platforms in the country, Alternative Adverts Ltd. has concluded arrangements to host this year’s Social Media Awards in Lagos in September.
According to the convener, Emmanuel Nwafor, Chief Executive Officer, Alternative Adverts Ltd, the event will honour individuals and organisations that are using social media in innovative and impactful ways.
“A lot has happened in about three years from the 2020 EndSars to the 2023 general elections, and social media was the battle ground. It is time to call the results of who did what and who deserves the awards,” he posited.
Nwafor further explained that the Social Media Awards has come to open a platform to applaud and reward all facets of efforts upholding or driving the social media world, enabling an improving system.
“The Social Media Awards aims to recognise those who are pushing the boundaries of what social media can do for good, whether it’s spreading joy, raising awareness for important causes or simply providing useful information and entertainment,” he noted.
While nominations will hold from June 14 to 30, the award categories include Best Social Influencer Campaign, Best Audience Engagement Campaign, Best Influencer Marketing Campaign of the Year, Social Media Influencer of the Year, Social Media Personality of the Year.
Most Innovative Use of Social Media, Emerging Social Media Personality of the Year, Best Use of Social Media for Entertainment, and Most Popular Skit on Social Media among others.
However, the public will decide award winners through online voting.
