Court Orders Injunction Against Do2dtun’s Defamatory Posts about D’banj on Social Media

A Chief District Court in the Federal Capital Territory, located at Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, has issued an order to prevent the on-air personality Kayode Oladotun, known as Do2dtun, from making defamatory posts about singer Oladapo Oyebanjo, aka D’banj, on social media or any other platform.

Furthermore, the court has instructed the Deputy Inspector of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, to investigate a criminal complaint made by D’banj against Do2dtun within a two-week period and to report back to the court.

Justice Emmanuel Iyanna issued this injunction on October 18, 2023, in a case referenced as Motion No: MN/218/2023. A certified true copy of the order was exclusively obtained by our correspondent.

The Source has reported that D’banj, represented by his lawyer Toheeb Lawal from the Abuja-based law firm, Law Corridor, had filed for an injunction to prevent Do2dtun from making alleged malicious and defamatory posts on social media. In response to D’banj’s application, Justice Iyanna granted an order restraining Do2dtun from making any malicious, intimidating, or defamatory posts about D’banj on any social media platform, including but not limited to X and Instagram, until the substantive case is heard and determined.

Additionally, the court has ordered an investigation into D’banj’s criminal complaint against Do2dtun by the Deputy Inspector of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, with a two-week deadline for reporting back to the court.

Do2dtun had made several posts on social media platforms, including X and Instagram, targeting D’banj. It’s worth noting that Do2dtun was previously married to D’banj’s sister, Taiwo, in 2013, and they have two children together.

In November 2021, Taiwo initiated divorce proceedings against Do2dtun, alleging “unending reckless emotional abuse, forced abortion, and vicious domestic violence,” which she claimed had a detrimental impact on her health and well-being.

Recently, Do2dtun made allegations about not being allowed to see his children, which Taiwo refuted, asserting that he does have access to their kids. She also shared her experiences of domestic violence and emotional abuse in the marriage, recounting a forced abortion incident.
