Oyo gets first private owned radio station, Oyomesi FM


The standard bearer of the Accord for Oyo Federal Constituency in the next general elections, Barrister Wakil Oyeleru Oyedemi has assured his fellow illustrious natives of the first indegenous radio station in Oyo land.

Oyedemi announced the making of the first ever privately owned radio named Oyomesi FM on Saturday while featuring on a public affairs radio programme in Ibadan.

He said the idea of the broadcast station situated at Isokun area of the ancient town was conceived simply to promote education, dissemination of information and support entertainment among the people.

According to him, “Oyomesi FM when becomes operational would complement my many other unassuming investments in Oyo town providing means of livelihoods for various groups of people.

He further maintained that the take off of the radio and its intending offshoots as an organization would provide thousands of employment opportunities for different categories of indigenes and non-indigenes towards the stimulation of social and economic activities of the town and beyond.

Barr. Oyeleru Oyedemi stressed that his aspiration to represent the good people of Oyo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja was to institutionalize a people-oriented representation at the grassroots.

He therefore implored the people across Atiba, Oyo West, Oyo East and Afijio to support his passion and mission to right the age long poor representation for the benefit of human, physical and community developments.
