Ondo state governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has applauded the grassroots and network reach of Radio Nigeria in the broadcast Industry in the country.
Mr Akeredolu spoke when he received in his office the outgoing Zonal Director , FRCN Ibadan Zonal station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph who was on a valedictory visit to the governor.
Mrs Joseph was accompanied by Radio Nigeria Positive FM General manager ,Mrs Olubunmi Olalere and other management team of the broadcast outfit.
Governor Akeredolu particularly commended Radio Nigeria for its uniqueness, professionalism, unbeatable reach and professionalism which the governor noted made the station outstanding.
Speaking on enormous cost of funding broadcast stations, Governor Akeredolu suggested switching to solar energy to reduce reliance on diesel , cutting unnecessary costs and putting assets to profitable use.
He then promised to assist Positive FM Akure in its quest to enhance quality service to the people of the state.
Earlier, the Zonal director FRCN Ibadan zonal station Mrs Joseph had condoled the state government on the Owo church attack while also appreciating the governor for leading the cause to protect the people in the southwest.
Mrs Joseph appealed to the governor to assist Positive FM in meeting some of its challenges such as the completion of office building, operational vehicles and equipment for effective broadcasting.
The Zonal Director informed the governor of her forthcoming Retirement after 35yrs of meritorious service and the governor wished her a blissful retirement.
Present during the visit were secretary to the state government, Princess Oladuni Odu, special adviser to the governor on union matters, Mr Dare Aragbaye and management team of Positive FM Akure.
