The Primus Media Conference 3.0, hosted by Primus Media City at Mauve 21 in Ibadan, on Friday, September 6, 2024, brought together media professionals, innovators, and thought leaders for in-depth discussions on the media industry’s current trends and future directions. Amidst rapid technological advancements and social changes, experts shared insights on navigating the evolving landscape through panel discussions.
Attendees gained valuable knowledge on content creation, broadcasting, and audience engagement. Ambassador Yemi Farounbi, former Nigerian ambassador to the Philippines, and media veteran Baale Yemi Ogunyemi led the first panel discussion. They emphasized the importance of audience engagement in broadcasting and news content.
“A broadcasting program is incomplete until it’s listened to,” Ambassador Farounbi noted. “No matter the preparation time, if it’s not listened to, it’s a waste of effort.” He stressed the need for media professionals to stay attuned to societal changes, advising broadcasters to consider social, technological, and economic factors when developing programs.
Ambassador Farounbi likened broadcasting to a dynamic industry requiring constant adaptation. “Broadcasting is like the horse industry, and events like Primus Media Conference 3.0 help us tackle upcoming challenges.” The conference successfully provided a platform for media professionals to network, gain insights, and discuss Nigeria’s broadcasting future, reaffirming innovation and adaptability as key to navigating the evolving media landscape.
