Lagelu FM Content Removed as Ogbomoso Residents Protest Disrespect to Throne

The people of Ogbomoso have expressed gratitude following the removal of controversial content on Facebook that aired derogatory remarks against the revered Soun of Ogbomoso. The incident, involving a broadcast by Lagelu FM 96.7, sparked outrage among locals who rallied to protect the honor of their monarch.

The controversy began when Lagelu FM aired an interview lasting over 30 minutes, during which according to them, a segment containing insulting comments about the Soun was reportedly cut and posted online. The broadcast quickly drew backlash from the Ogbomoso community, who described the act as disrespectful and unacceptable.

In a post on Facebook by one of the community platforms, Inside Ogbomoso, residents called for swift action. “Thank you, Ogbomoso! Facebook has brought down and dealt with the content against Soun from Lagelu FM 96.7. Airing insults against our revered throne is not acceptable!” the statement read.

The platform issued a stern warning to Lagelu FM and other media outlets, demanding greater responsibility in handling sensitive content. “This should be the last warning to Lagelu FM and others. Ogbomoso will never tolerate insults against its monarch.”

The Ogbomoso community applauded the collective efforts of its people, saying, “Your voice was heard loud and clear.” They urged individuals to delete the video from their pages and report accounts sharing the controversial content.

As at the press time, Lagelu FM has not issued a public response to the allegations.
