Three Aba Radio Stations Shut Down After Mysterious Fire Outbreak


A devastating fire incident occurred on Saturday night, November 2nd, 2024, at approximately 9:30 pm, targeting three sister radio stations in Aba, Abia State. Enyimba 94.3 FM, Rose 101.9 FM, and Legend 98.3 FM, located off Margret Avenue on the PZ axis of Aba-Owerri Road, suffered significant damage.

The management of Enyimba TV & Radio Ltd. released a statement confirming the incident and expressing gratitude for the community’s swift response in containing the fire. Thankfully, all staff members are safe and unharmed.

As a precautionary measure, the stations have temporarily suspended operations to assess the damage and implement safety measures.

Abia State Governor Alex Otti visited the scene on Sunday, offering condolences and support. He described the incident as unfortunate but thanked God for the safety of the staff.

Governor Otti assured the management that his administration would assist in resuming broadcasting operations soon. He emphasized the importance of fire safety measures, including proper solar panel installations and having fire extinguishers in offices.

The management has promised to keep the public updated on their progress.
