Yes FM’s Seun Owoseeni emerged South West Outstanding Presenter of the Year

The Head of News, Yes 101.7 FM, Mr. Oluwaseun Owoseeni, has won the South West Outstanding Presenter Award.

A letter by the Chairman, Planning Committee of the award organized by the South West Herald Magazine, Adu Oluwatayo Moses Esq, said Owoseeni, was picked due to his unequal commitment to creativity, dedication and hard work which he has displayed as a passionate journalist in the media space within the South West region, after rigorous deliberations and considerations of several nominees.

He charged Owoseeni to see the award as a milestone recognition and motivation for better dedication in upholding creativity and professional competence in his service to humanity.

Oluwaseun Oluwole Owoseeni, is a broadcast journalist whose passion for the journalism profession has made him resolute and strong-willed even in the face of the obvious and palpable ordeal in the profession.

Born in Akure, Akure South local government area over three decades ago, he had his elementary education at Aunty Titi Nursery and Primary School, Akure and secondary education at Messiah High School before moving to Oyemekun Grammar School where he sat for his Senior School Certificate Examination.

In his quest for university education, Oluwaseun applied to study English Education at the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU in Ile Ife which has its center at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, in 2008 and got the required score in the post UTME examination.

While in school, he developed keen interest in journalism which made him join the school radio named Arbico FM. And in his third year in the university, he became the head of the school radio station.

During his one year compulsory service to his father land, he joined the Orientation Broadcasting Service where he handled some programs.

He professionally got exposed to journalism when he had a stint with the Ogun state Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) where he was rigorously put through the rudiments of journalism. He left the services of the corporation in 2018 and joined the Òndó State Radio Vision Corporation where he worked as a newscaster, presenter, editor and producer.

He later joined Yemi Sonde Media Group, owners of 101.7 Yes FM, Ibadan, where he is presently the Head of News and Current Affairs department and anchors the station’s political program such as Politics Now and the Big Deal.

Oluwaseun who covered and reported the recently concluded Ekiti and Osun states governorship elections, attended the Yes Media Academy to add to his knowledge and is not relenting in becoming the complete broadcast journalist he desires to be.

His investiture will hold at the International Culture and Event Center (Dome), Igbatoro Road, Akure in Ondo State on Sunday, 9 October, 2022 at 2pm, with the former Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, as Chairman of the occasion.
