The University of Ibadan Alumni Association conferred meritoriously the award of WORTHY AMBASSADOR on the Ace Broadcaster and Mediapreneur who is also the Group Managing Director, Yemi Sonde Media Group, Mr Yemi Sonde, arpa MCA MPDI.
The award was conferred meritoriously for his outstanding achievements then as a student of the Premier University of Ibadan and his present dispensation as a Media Practitioner and philantropist of note.
Yemi Sonde who was awarded in company of some other notable alumni and philantropist in Nigeria like His Royal Majesty, Sabiganna of Iganna Land Ọba Saliu Azeez, HRM Ọba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Emugoriade 1, Chief Engr Dọtun Sanusi, Dr Fola Akinosun, Mr Greg Odutayo, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode the Executive Chairman Ìbàdàn South East Local Government and a host of others.
Yẹmi Sonde who was overwhelmed with joy when he was presented the award plaque by the former National President of UIAA narrated his early experience on land of University of Ibadan when his late Father brought him in as a Jambite in the year 1990.
According to Yemi Sonde, “I am filled with unending joy right now and i remembered the first day in the land of UI when my father followed me as a Jambite” he dedicated the award to his late parents; Pa Sunday Omolaja & Mama Obawamiri Sonde and also to all responsible parents around.
Yemi Sonde who has bagged 3 Degrees from the prestigious institution of learning and still yearning for more Viz; B.Sc Forest Resources Management; Master in Communication and Language Arts MCA; Master in Project Development and Implementation MPDI
Yemi Sonde who was flanked by friends, colleagues and staff of Yemi Sonde Media Group such as Alhaji Sulaimon Adegbenro Consoligbadun of Fàájì FM, Engr Dr Taiwo Kadiri, Chairman Katawa Group, Mr Yemi Fashoranti CEO Goldrich Multimedia LTD, Mr Lanre Adeosun, Mr & Mrs Adedamola Ajiboye, Miss Julia Anthony amongst many others.
The event was held at The Alumni Multi-purpose Hall, University of Ibadan.
