Oyo FIBAN Commends Gov. Seyi Makinde For Releasing Fund To Complete Atiba FM

The Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria(FIBAN), Oyo State Chapter has commended Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on the release of N100m fund for the completion of moribund Atiba FM in Oyo town.

In a statement signed by the Special Aide on Media and Publicity to Oyo FIBAN Governor Amb. Taiwo Oguntoye where he described Gov. Makinde as a promise keeper.

Awodele eulogizes Makinde for looking at the direction of the long time cries of the people of Oyo town on Atiba FM. According to him “Mr Governor promised to make Atiba FM work again and we are so pleased with the news of the 100m fund released to reposition the radio station for the benefits of Oyo State citizenry. This would be another grace and opportunity for us as broadcasters to show case our gifts (potentials) through this platform.”

Awodele, however, admonished all that are concern in the execution of the project to put into use judiciously the fund made available to get the station running as soon as possible.

In the same vein, Awodele also congratulates His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi III, Iku Baba Yeye, the Alaafin of Oyo for witnessing great societal developments in the ancient town under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The site of Atiba FM radio station was inaugurated in 2012 by former governor of Oyo State. The site is located in Oyo town on the land previously occupied by Basorun Customary Court, Oyo Radio Information and Agunpopo Microfinance Bank.
