A Media practitioner has opined that Ibadan radio do not currently have any active broadcast investigative journalist.
This was made known in the comment section of a Primus’ Survey post on our social media platform. Oyetunji A. Ojo, the editor of Radio Reporter NG and correspondent at SilverbirdNews24, in his comment strongly opined that popular journalists; Edmund Obilo of Splash 105.5 FM and Oriyomi Hamzat of Agidigbo 88.7 FM are not into investigative journalism contrary as believed by the majority in the city.
Oyetunji asserted that the two brilliant hands are just “programmers” who are into News/Current affairs and Human angles investigations respectively. He also stated that a Broadcast Journalist is not a programme person doing ‘Iriri Aiye’. “
In his words, “Oriyomi, Obilo are not into investigative journalism. Not one on Radio in Ibadan for now. Oriyomi is not a Journalist but a programme person into human angle investigation, and at best human rights activism. Obilo is just a news and current affairs programmer.” He said.
Also in the same comment section, a certain Timilehin Aderinto described Oriyomi Hamzat, founder of Agidigbo FM as the most controversial radio presenter on Ibadan radio.
