The Executives of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association(NVMA), Oyo State Branch paid a courtesy visit to the Group Managing Director, Yemi Sonde Media Group on the 1st of March, 2022 to appreciate him for his support and congratulate him on successful establishment of his radio station 101.7 Yes! FM.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Association, Dr Moses Arokoyo, praised Yemi Sonde for the good image he is giving the broadcasting profession and for using his influence to promote Veterinary Medical Practice. YS-Live on Splash FM was one of the major radio programmes used by NVMA Oyo State Branch to promote the importance of the activities of veterinary doctors in our society.
He further stated that, the association is ready to partner with Yes! FM Ibadan to ensure that members of the public are educated on zoonotic diseases and ways to improve livestock production. In his words “notable days like World Tuberculosis Day, World Veterinary Day, World Zoonoses Day, World Rabies Day, World Animal Day and International One Health Day are very important for advocacy on radio to enlighten members of the public on animal health issues”. He mentioned that, the National Congress of NVMA will be hosted by Oyo State, lots of publicity and public relations will be required to ensure success of the event.
In her response, the General Manager, Yes! FM Ibadan, Fola Folayan, said the radio station is open for collaboration and as content creator, Yes! FM will consider members of NVMA as resource persons on animal health matters.
Yemi Sonde was delighted with the courtesy visit and believed that the relationship will continue to be fruitful.
Invitation to the Grand Launch Party for Yes!FM was extended to the Executives of NVMA Oyo State Branch. The event is scheduled to hold on the 20th of March, 2022, 12PM, at Felicia Hall Jogor Centre, Ibadan.
In attendance were some of the Executives of NVMA Oyo State Branch ably led by Dr Moses Arokoyo, Chairman; Dr Afusat Jubril, Vice Chairperson; Dr Temidayo Bakare, General Secretary; Dr Adetayo Oluwafemi, Publicity Secretary while the entire management team of Yes FM played host to the NVMA Oyo State Branch.
