A private radio station based in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, Life Radio 107.5FM has started its maiden edition of Markets Football Quiz.
The competition, which started on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, between 12.30 – 2.00 pm has 12 participating markets across Ibadan and it will come to an end on December 9, 2021.
The Head of Station (HoS) of LR, Mr. Babatunde Muraina noted that the competition is part of its philosophy to add value to the “Life” of its audience and host community, explaining that Life Radio was birthed to make a difference in the broadcast media space with compelling content and engaging activities promoting multiple perspectives of human life.
According to the Head of Station, the 90 minutes packaged Football quiz is for the benefit of the station’s football-loving listeners and the general public, explaining that the quiz programme is aimed at forging togetherness amongst the people of the state irrespective of tribe, cultural values and religious beliefs as Football is seen as a unifying sport in Nigeria.
Muraina added that the competition is geared towards creating a meeting point for all markets and traders in the city of Ibadan and beyond, thereby increasing their knowledge base of the game.
He pointed out that the participating markets include Ogunpa Central; Sango Ojurin market; Gbagi Tuntun; Bodija Iso Pako; Temidire Market, Eleyele; Aleshinloye Market; Ogunpa Footwears; Gbagi Orisun Aje; Labaowo Ogunpa; Bodija Iso Foodstuffs; Shasha Market and Ifeleye Ogunpa.
He said, “participating markets’ representatives are expected to be knowledgeable in football at the local, State, National and International levels including league competitions across Europe, as this will enhance the chances of market representatives in winning the competition.”
