Hon. Adebayo Babajide denies any wrong doing, vows to seek legal redress against concerned Journalist

In a swift reaction to our earlier publication of the alleged harassment and threat to life of Mr. Oladapo Ibikunle, a practicing Journalist and Chairman of the Correspondents in the Oyo State House of Assembly by thugs loyal to Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel. The Lawmaker has vehemently denied the allegation.

In a conversation with Primus Media correspondent, the Lawmaker representing Ibadan North State Constituency 2 stated that he personally drove the first car in the 4-car convoy, and that it was the third car that had an altercation with Mr. Ibikunle. He also informed us that the matter was settled amicably by the traffic warden on duty at the Sango Poly junction before he drove off.

He further explained that he got a call from his Personal Assistant in one of the cars identifying Mr. Ibikunle as a Journalist attached to the State House of Assembly. He swore to have parked his car immediately in front of The Polytechnic, Ibadan to apologize to Mr. Ibikunle. But unfortunately his plea fell on deaf ears of Mr. Ibikunle, who in turn threatened to deal with him.

Hon. Adebayo said some of his colleagues contacted by Mr. Ibikunle, pleaded with him and promised to fix his car if there is any damage whatsoever, but the complainant could not come forward with his car because there was really no damage at all.

He however vouched to seek legal remedy against what he termed unjustifiable defamation of character by the complainant.
