Ahead of the 2023 general election, a renowned world class Islamic cleric in Nigeria, Alhaji Taofeek Akeugberu Akeugbagold has advised the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to give the party’s ticket to the indispensable famous presenter, Alhaji AbdulRasaq AbdulGaneey popularly known as Mr GRA in order to emerge as its candidate in the forthcoming general election.
The ace broadcaster seeks to represent Ibadan North state constituency 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
Akeugbagold, who made this known at the 2nd annual Ramadan public lecture held yesterday, Wednesday April 13, at De Aces Hall, Yemetu, Ibadan, described Mr GRA as someone who is very vocal, articulate, pious, possess unlimited good character, adding that he can control youths across the state.
Akeugbagold said, “we will all support APC if it gives Oyo State House of Assembly ticket to Mr GRA. Even APC will enjoy the love and support of the people and the press massively”.
While commending Mr GRA, Akeugbagold noted that media trainer has indispensable charisma. He advised the House of Assembly hopeful to be kind to people, electorates and the party members. “You shall succeed. GRA is qualified, he is an orator, very vocal, articulate, intelligent and has the acumen to excel as a legislator. He is popular among the teeming youths and the masses in general.
He urged APC leaders and members in attendance to support Mr GRA, appealing to “Please give him the ticket, we will support your party, APC needs credible candidate like Alhaji AbdulRasaq AbdulGaneey. Nigerians should vote for good personalities like Mr GRA.”
Earlier, while declaring his intention, Mr GRA extolled God, saying that “All glories and adorations are due to Almighty God for giving us divine grace to gather here today for the purpose of my 2nd Ramadan lecture cum official declaration to represent the good people of Ibadan North constituency 1 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general election”.
“My joining politics is not borne out of desire for wealth accumulation but to make meaningful impacts in my state constituency.
“Politics is an opportunity to serve humanity. As a journalist, I always advocate for good governance and quality representation. Now, it is time to practice what I have been preaching on air over the years. Hence, my desire to represent my people in the 10th Oyo State House of assembly is a resolve to serve. Legislature is the bedrock of democracy. I am fully prepared, I will sponsor masses-oriented bills and motions as well as facilitate meaningful constituency projects to every nook and cranny of my constituency, I cannot afford to fail or disappoint you.
