OPINION POLLS: CALL-IN VERSUS NO CALL-IN

In broadcasting today, call-in is a programme format in which viewers or listeners are invited to make their opinions known through telephone, which is majorly in respect of a specific discourse on such programme. Likewise we have some programme where the producer or anchor do not allow phone-in session, but clinically analyze, dissect and inform his or her audience on a specific subject matter.

There has been arguments in some quarters that Call-in programmes breed laziness among presenters, while another school of though believes a presenter has no monopoly of knowledge, therefore opinion of listeners on issues should be entertained.
