6 Pidgin OAPs Rocking Ibadan Airwaves

On Ibadan radio, languages have never been a barrier to entertain, educate, and inform radio fans and listeners of any age bracket.

As big as the city is, Ibadan radio industry does not  discriminate when it comes to languages, it’s only left for listeners to choose amidst available choices, such as English, Yoruba, Pidgin, Igbo, Hausa, among others.

Pidgin presenters cannot be left out of the tremedious and laudable achievements of Ibadan radio industry. Hence, they play a significant role in the growth of Radio industry of the city.

Again, Primus Media City is opening another chapter of Ibadan Media, as we unveil, in no particular order, 6 pidgin On-Air-Personalities, currently rocking the airwaves in the city.

1. Tunde Sofowora (Inspiration 100.5 FM)

Tunde Spy as fondly called is a dynamic pidgin presenter and newscaster on Inspiration FM. On radio, he’s one of the vibrant hands that makes Ibadan Radio a colorful one. His brilliant delivery makes radio fans home and abroad stay connected with him.

2. Ojobaro Babatunde (Royal Root 92.9 FM)

He is not only fascinating as a tall handsome man but trust me, his delivery in pidgin makes him the “people’s favorite.” The popular Mister Rain is a media practitioner and an On-Air-Personality with good mastery of pidgin language among his colleagues. He’s a graduate of Theater Art at the University of Ibadan.

3. Afouda Samuel (32FM 94.9)

The “god on radio” without mincing words, stands out among his colleagues as a product of his rare style of presentation; humorous delivery coupled with his contagious laugh on the airwaves. The legal practitioner, Afouda Babaagbala in Ibadan is becoming a school for many when it comes to pidgin language on Radio. He is the regular anchor of “What’sUp 9ja,” 3pm daily.

4. Jolomi Rapheal (RapinDady) Lagelu 96.7 FM

MC RapinDady known as ‘Your Boyfriend on Radio’ is a renowned pidgin English broadcaster in the city and a multi-talented personality. His ability to entertain the people makes him “Conveyor of Happiness.” No doubt, Oloye Rapin is a verstile OAP with good reputation in the society. Recently, the pidgin OAP, MC Rapin Dady just bagged a degree certificate from Ajayi Crowther University.

5. Seun Ejidokun (Agidigbo 88.7 FM)

Seun Ejidokun (Mr. De-Law) also known as Mr. Opataricious is one of the Ibadan pidgin radio presenters with all thinkable vibes on radio. He is nothing but energetic in his delivery, and command of pidgin language in Igbo dialect is impeccable. He anchors the pidgin programme “Opataritious”  2pm daily.

6. Bryan Oluwagbemiga Adefuwa (Lagelu 96.7 FM)

Da 13Th Disciple is a pidgin journalist and a presenter. He is a vital pidgin voice in the Ibadan radio pace. Maybe one would say, pidgin is in his blood. He has in no time become an household name on Ibadan radio and has infected many listeners to stay glued with the radio station he currently works with.
